| "Alter Egos"
H 75" x W 42" x D 36" (2000) (Organza, plastic, stones; heat transfers, painting, assemblage) All the images belong to the same statue and they get smaller and smaller and disappear at one end of the fabric. They embody alter egos. In addition, each one of these images has a double that is suspended behind it, in the form of a very simple human shape made of shiny wrinkled plastic. On the floor, the wrinkles of the fabric and the broken pieces of marble imply disintegration and decay. The concepts of disintegration and replacement by alter egos point to the problems of vulnerability and of appearances in human life. |
