H 68" x W 35" (2002) (Fabrics, wire, found objects; heat transfers, polymer emulsion varnishes) In Verona, Italy, home of Romeo and Juliet, the sight of tourist lovers graffitis that are scribbled all over Juliets house and courtyard summons the memory of the lovers tragic story. Those myriad innocent love messages form the background of this vision, a hopeless tangle very similar to a heap of chains. Chains of love, or chains of fate, that is the question. |
