Against a background depicting an archery target, a woman’s torso seems to have been subjected to shooting practice. The holes left by the arrows extend through to the straw-like back layer. The holes are bordered with blood-red threads. The top layer, first intended to simulate a shield, is in fact a very fine mesh unable to protect her.
