This work is inspired by the triangular tops of ancient Roman sarcophagi. The dormant statue seems embedded and imprisoned within the confines of the narrow space. The painted designs of brick walls and barbed wires seal her enclosure. The identity of that dormant statue has to be Adikia, the Greek personification of Prejudice and Preconceived Ideas, which explains why she keeps her eyes closed. How appropriate to have this icon buried and put away for good!

Cette œuvre est inspirée par les couvercles triangulaires des anciens sarcophages romains. La statue endormie semble totalement emprisonnée dans cet espace étroit. Les murs de briques et les barbelés, peints en motifs, scellent son enclos. L'identité de cette statue est sûrement Adikia, la personnification grecque des Préjugés et des Idées reçues, ce qui explique pourquoi elle garde les yeux fermés. Qu'il est donc normal d'ensevelir cette icône et de s'en débarrasser de pour de bon!
